Meet our Members

We are a social mobility charity, whilst headquartered in London we have a network of Regional Managers, and we at the heart of a network of employers and educators who all believe that every young person, regardless of background, deserves the opportunity to kick-start a rewarding future. We have been established for 18 years and over that time we’ve built up a network of employer supporters and volunteers who deliver a range of high-quality, careers focused programmes in 400 schools and colleges across the UK.

In recognition of our work, we were shortlisted at the 2020 Charity Times Awards for ‘Charity of the Year’ and won ‘Corporate Partnership of the Year’ for our work with Citi.

Career Ready provides activities and programmes for students from Years 7 through to 13 designed to raise their career awareness, develop their employability skills and prepare them for the world of work.

For our Post 16 programme we are working with Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College in Darlington. Students there apply to come onto the programme, its not mandatory, and once enrolled undertake 4 key elements – Mentoring, Masterclasses, Workplace Visits and Workbased experiences. We are looking to recruit volunteers from local businesses that would like to mentor a sixth form student. This involves one meeting per month from January to December and we provide training, handbook and support. We also look for volunteers to deliver masterclasses (all materials are provided), provide workplace visits and work experience placements. Till at least summer 2021 the activities will be delivered virtually.
