Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership and strategic direction, helping to shape the future of our charity as we work to meet the growing needs of older people across the region.
As a Trustee, you will join a dynamic team of individuals committed to improving the lives of older people, providing essential services, and enhancing our organisation’s reach. Our Trustees play a critical role in guiding Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington’s strategy, championing innovative programmes, and helping us continue our mission to make a lasting impact in our communities.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from enthusiastic volunteers who are eager to contribute to our discussions and support our plans for growth. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in the following areas:
- Human Resources (HR)
- Law
- Business Development
- Marketing
- Information Technology (IT)
- Adult Social Care
- Catering Services
While these specific skills would be valuable, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Curiosity, a willingness to challenge, and a genuine desire to make a difference are as important to us as professional experience. If you are committed to supporting older people and have a passion for community service, we would love to hear from you.
About Us
Based in the heart of Darlington, our charity delivers a range of vital services across North Yorkshire and Darlington, including:
- Information and Advice: Offering older people guidance on a variety of issues from finances to health.
- Meals at Home: Ensuring that older people can access nutritious meals.
- Groups and Activities: Providing social opportunities to combat loneliness and promote wellbeing.
- Dementia Day Care: Our highly regarded day care unit offers specialised support for those living with dementia, delivering person-centred care in a safe, welcoming environment.
Our work has a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve, and as a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to influence this work and help us expand and enhance our services.
