Live Hack & The Vulnerability Assessment Scheme
Cybercrime is no longer an emerging threat and is now a mainstream part of policing. The sheer scale of criminality emanating from countries all over the world means that offenders don’t need to step foot within our policing borders but can remotely exploit vulnerable machines and systems from anywhere in the world, causing chaos, financial loss and loss of personal information to both businesses and individuals. The ever-changing nature of cybercrime due to the emergence of new technologies and the development of old has forced us to think about how to get up-scale of criminality and trying to stop opportunities for criminals, much like traditional crime prevention. Together with Northumbria Police, we have created the Vulnerability Assessment Scheme to make a start on achieving this.
