Darlington Business Club (DBC) has a new Chair; Claire Mitchell, MD of 19 Marketing. Claire has brought over 20 years of business and marketing experience to the club with the aim of increasing the membership and visibility in the region. She has already made her mark on it by dropping 'and District' from the name to make it more marketable and creating a new logo based on the brick train at Morton Park.
Originally from Teesdale, Claire is now based between Darlington and Catterick. Previous positions have seen her as Marketing Manager for Courtaulds Aerospace and Explorer Group, as well as Business Development Manager at the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE).
Claire says; "I'm delighted to take the role of Chair at the business club. I think all business owners in teh area should have a club they want to be part of, so I've kicked off a new marketing campaign using all the tools at my agency's disposal. I would like to open the club to some of rge town's bigger businesses and those on the periphery to use all the experience and knowledge at our disposal. I'm excited to support local business and promote networking in the town."
With Claire's appointment at the head of the Club comes a radical change to the pricing structure of membership. She is making changes that will allow regional charaties to apply for free membership and smaller business pay a reduced rate. This, she hopes, will mean the club attracts a broad selection of the business community with business large and small becoming members.
