DBC Privacy Statement
Your privacy matters to us

Darlington Business Club (hereinafter referred to as DBC) respects your right to privacy. We do not sell or otherwise provide personal information to third parties except as noted below.

DBC collects personal information about its users during registration and while users visit the site. Using "cookie" technology, we are able to recognize you as a user whenever you visit, as well as automatically detect your membership when you participate in DBC interactive features.

The data we collect is used in the statistical aggregate to give us demographic information about the entire DBC audience in order to monitor the performance of the web site Darlingtonbusinessclub.co.uk and how it is being used. We do not share aggregate information with other parties.

DBC intend to use email to reduce the administrative burden and costs associated with paper communications. Members will receive emails from DBC, reminders about forthcoming meetings, special announcements and pro-forma invoices from time to time. You may also elect to receive newsletters from DBC through your email.

If you have given your consent, your details will be shared with Business Clubs North East (BCNE), its affiliated business clubs and the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC). Please note that we are not responsible for any actions of any third parties that may receive your information, and we advise you to check the privacy policies of any third party from which you elect to receive information directly.

DBC uses reasonable precautions to keep the personal information disclosed to us secure. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security over which we have no control. Please be advised that once you link to other sites from DBC's site, DBC's privacy policy no longer applies. Please review all third party sites' privacy policies prior to providing any personal information therein.

You may update your member information at any time, if you have difficulties in updating your profile online, please contact the membership officer with the relevant details and they can be changed for you.

A forum or message board service has been provided for members to discuss and share ideas or information. If you find a message or posts/postings you consider inappropriate or offensive,please notify a committee member, who will arrange to have it temporarily removed from display, pending the outcome of an investigation, at which time it may be re-instated or permanently removed.

DBC intend to take photographs of members participating in business club events in order to promote its activities. These images will be displayed in the public areas of the website. If you find a photograph on the web site, in which you are clearly identifiable and you have objections to its use, please contact a committee member who will arrange for it to be removed.
